Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that the upcoming crossover set Avatar: The Last Airbender will release worldwide on Nov. 21, 2025. According to the Magic: The Gathering official website, this Universes Beyond collaboration will be available in physical tabletop format on that date.
Players, however, can obtain TCG cards before the global release date during Prerelease events.

Pre-launch events kick off one week before the official launch of the TLA trading card game set. The prerelease events at local game shops will run from Nov. 14 to 20, and the complete set will become playable through MTG Arena on Nov. 18.
Within the Avatar: The Last Airbender TCG set are several key collectible treatments per WotC, including a raised-foil, borderless version of Avatar Aang, textless, neon-ink, borderless “battle pose” cards, and scene cards recreating significant moments from each of the three books of the animated series.
Regarding play formats, WotC notes that the set’s code will be TLA, with an “Eternal-legal” variant code TLE for formats such as Commander, Legacy, and Vintage.
- TLA is legal in all MTG formats.
- TLE cards within Avatar: The Last Airbender TCG are legal within the Commander, Legacy, and Vintage formats.
- Play Boosters will contain both TLA and TLE cards. The TLE cards within Play Boosters are legal to play within Prerelease, Draft, and Sealed Limited formats.
With this announcement, expect early secondary-market movement from the sealed product side — the MTG Avatar: The Last Airbender set is now available for preorder via local game stores, Amazon, and TCGplayer.
